Warhammer Age of Sigmar Open Day 2018: The Archive

In this news update for the Age of Sigmar Open Day on March 3rd 2018, we’re enjoying a bit of time travel!

Thanks to the Archive display you’ll be able to get up close to classic miniatures, products and publications, relating to some of the announcements and releases from White Dwarf in 2008, 1998, 1988 and 1978.

It’s a great way to look back, and see how things have changed to get where your hobby is today.

The Archive display for 2018 had it’s first outing at the New Year’s Open Day, where technical issues prevented us from displaying everything… The great news for the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Open Day is that the Archive display will also feature a 3 meter long timeline!  A sneak peek is shown below, along with a shot of the timeline from 2017’s Archive display.

In the cabinets you’ll find boxes and more from the Archives, some of which we’ve opened up to show you the original contents. You might see something you played with endlessly and still have in the loft, or always wanted for Christmas but never got!

As well as reminiscing over the timeline and the classics in the cabinets, you’ll find Exhibitions Curator Lise inviting you to share what your first miniature was, as we fill out a poster of (potentially embarrassing!) fond memories. If you squint, you can see her sticker next to the year 2000.

If you’re coming to the Age of Sigmar Open Day, get your thinking cap on, and do a bit of maths on your fingers if you have to, as we’d love to find out what and when your first Citadel miniature was!

Warhammer World?s Age of Sigmar Open Day is a celebration of the amazing Citadel and Forge World models we produce, as well as giving you a chance to look at what is to come. It?s a fantastic event for all fans of Age of Sigmar!
